Pray for China... and Burma.

Pray for China.

Evidently their army was just rushed to a dam that is up-river from the town that is still digging out from the earthquake - if it goes, it will be horrific.

While we are at it, letys pray for Burma too. They are saying that the death toll may reach 500,000.

Messianic podcast: The Word Is Grace

Well, I finally got through this semester. Finally, I can take a deep breath, swallow some Tylenol, take a shot of Imodium AD, drink a glass of green tea, and relax.

(photo from www.torahsofer.com/)

I have started uploading our weekly church service as a free podcast on mypodcast.com.

If you have questions about the Messianic, or Hebrew Roots teachings, please feel free to download our weekly teaching and hear it for yourself; it is totally confidential, and you are sure

to be fed.

We have just begun an in depth study of the Gospel of John, taught by Jim Denman.

I still get a lot of hits on Mangdiddles for “free messianic teaching” and “Messianic radio stations” so I am hoping that The Word Is Grace will fulfill that need. In the future, we are going to be starting a radio station (probably on Shoutcast) that will be a compilation of our weekly studies, and some good Messianic praise music. In the meantime, click here to download what we have on podcast. If you still need more, I would encourage you to check out “Messianic Jewish Teachings

from Beth Israel,

and Grant Luton’s free audio teachings located here. Grant has a great set of weekly parsha commentary teachings that I download frequently.

I hope this helps. At the very least, it will answer any questions that you may have about One Law, Hebrew Roots or Messianic Christianity. Don't believe everything that you hear - we don't sacrifice lambs or require Hebrew classes. Nor do we believe that we are saved by observing Torah.

What do we believe then? Why do we have those things hanging off of the bottom of our shirts or belt loops? Why do we not eat bacon? What's with the beard!?

...you'll have to download to find out!

Is It Just Me, Or Is It Getting Cold Again?

(photo from Foxnews.com)

I would never make light of the great work that Ronald Regan did while in office, but I have always had a sneaking suspicion that the all of the Cold War being “over” was a sham.

A consistent strategy of communist regimes is to out-wait your enemy, slowly infecting their society until they are easy to topple.

This year, we have two blatant Communists and a Republican that acts more like Jimmy Carter than Ronald Reagan, who are trying to be our president. The Left is on a perpetual campaign to sway the US toward Socialism, and our government has begun to utilize National Laws, INTERPOL, etc.

…imagine my surprise this morning when I saw this on Drudge:

Nuclear missiles parade across Red Square

From BREITBART.COM

Nuclear missiles and tanks paraded Friday across Red Square for the first time since the Soviet era but new President Dmitry Medvedev warned other nations against "irresponsible ambitions" that he said could start wars.

Marching bands and 8,000 troops goose-stepped across the square, followed by a huge display of heavy weapons including Topol-M ballistic missiles and T-90 tanks, and a fly-by of warplanes.

Reviewing his first parade as commander in chief, Medvedev warned against "irresponsible ambitions" that he said could spark war across entire continents.

I Know You Are - But What Am I?

Yet another sickening threat from Iran's madman-leader, this time calling Israel a "stinking corpse" that is destined to disappear.

Yet again, there is no outrage from the media, and you have to go to the Jerusalem Post to even see the story. Can you imagine if this were a legitimate leader from the west calling the "Palestinians" a
"stinking corpse that is destined to disappear"?
There would be hell to pay.
This guy needs to be dealt with.

From Jpost.com

Ahmadinejad: Israel a 'stinking corpse'

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the state of Israel is a "stinking corpse" that is destined to disappear, the French news agency AFP reported.

"Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken," the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as having said.

"Today the reason for the Zionist regime's existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation."

Ahmadinejad further stated that Israel "has reached the end like a dead rat after being slapped by the Lebanese" - referring to the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006.

...So Good.

Well, I have one more day of classes. After this semester I will have attained my "Technical Certificate," which brings me one step closer to my Associates Degree. I was told by my accedemic advisor that I only hadf one more semester left after this one, but was informed yesterday that they are not offering my core classes through the summer.
It looks like I will be taking a break.

I will only have one core class, a trigonometry / geometry class and maybe a computer programming class if I can get the scholarship for it.

I will start posting more regularly when the dust settles. So far I am at the top of my class - something I would like to hang on to, but might lose when my CNC final is graded. For the time being though, I am holding a 4.0.

I would like to congratulate my nephew for graduating this year from high school - you have the world ahead of you, now your job is to not let it get into you. You have a maker who knows your name - live your life to please Him. There is no other way that is worth living.

As for me and my house, all we can say is that God is good - so good. In the midst of some pretty hair raising financial problems, He is good. In the midst of family medical problems, He is good. In the midst of this screwed up world, He is good.

The Word Is Grace podcast form the Carpenter's Shop is going to start uploading weekly sermons starting next week. We are going to be starting the book of John... unless it has changed in the last few days.
My next goal is to compile the teachings with original music from our church and some selected praise and worship, and start an online radio station on Shoutcast.
...be praying for me, I have a lot on my plate.

"We Answer To A Higher Authority"

This is just an oddity that I had to share with the you while I am going through the pains of mid-term exams.

I took this with my cell phone at a local Kroger's in Crawfordsville, IN.
For the record, there is an IGA that has the same display - I just wonder if the people at Hebrew National are OK with this...

If you are wondering what I am talking about, nothing in the cooler is kosher - it is all pork sausage and pork (among other things) bologna.
Hebrew National might "answer to a higher authority," but Kroger's ain't havin' it.

UnFreezing Hillary

Sorry about the lack of posts - I am going through final exams.
I had a few minutes to make this beauty though.
Charles at LGF calls this the "Full Beam" the "Serious Dimple" and the "Cackle"
I put them together using UnFreez and PowerPoint. I could have been more elaborate, but the thought of 15 more minutes manipulating pictures of Hillary made my stomach churn a bit.

The stills are from Little Green Footballs, and the video was from O'Riley.

My Basic Instinct Tells Me We Are Looking At Basic Judgement.

With things like this in the mainstream 'entertainment industry,' you can't tell me that our country isn't headed for judgment.

From Foxnews.com

In his upcoming biography of Jesus, "Basic Instinct" director Paul Verhoeven will make the shocking claim that Christ probably was the son of Mary and a Roman soldier who raped her during the Jewish uprising in Galilee, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

...if you can stomach it, read the rest here.
..................................................

Unfortunately, this thing will probably fly off of the shelves in California; not to mention every liberal arts college in the country.

We're watching it happen, people - these things point toward a coming judgment.

Why is Sunday Revered Today?

The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.

The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.

- emphasis mine.

...is that enough? Considering that God said that the Sabbath was His day; a day to be remembered and observed as a day of rest forever?

I have said it before, and I believe it needs to be repeated: even if the apostle Paul himself declared that Saturday was no longer the Sabbath - if he made a direct command for the followers of Jesus to observe Sunday as the Sabbath - it wouldn't be enough. No man on this earth, then or now, has the authority to "change" the day that God Himself declared to be the Sabbath.

Is There A Bigger Earthquake Coming?

We had another earthquake just after midnight last night - this one was just a 4.5.
All of the recent activity along the Wabash Valley is sparking new concerns that there may be a whopper coming.

The fault that is causing all of the speculation is the "New Madrid Fault" which runs along the Mississippi River, through the Illinois and Indiana boarders. The New Madrid is responsible for the devastation of the Mississippi Valley in 1811 and 1812.

(from Yahoo news)
One scenario predicts that some stress is relieved on the local faults where this earthquake occurred and will cool things down for a few decades. The other scenario is not so happy.
"There is the possibility, and we can only see over next few months what will happen, that the redistribution of stress on neighboring faults might trigger further earthquakes, and we can only guess as to whether they'll be equally large as today's earthquake," Forte said.

The map above comes form a website called: greatdreams.com that has a ton of information about the New Madrid.
(from greatdreams.com)

NEW MADRID FAULT BEWARE
Scientists have pinpointed a set of faults in the Midwest
that cause severe earthquakes every 500 years. The
quakes are so powerful that they can cause the

Mississippi River to temporarily flow backwards.

...I'll take the flu.

FLU SEASON WORSE IN 4 YEARS; VACCINE DIDN'T WORK WELL

pr 17, 12:17 PM (ET)

By MIKE STOBBE
(Newsvine.com)

ATLANTA (AP) - This year's flu season has shaped up to be the worst in three years, partly because the vaccine didn't work well against the viruses that made most people sick, health officials said Thursday.

I've never had one, and will never make my kids have one. Every person that I have ever known to get one has said that they still get the flu, and every year there is a story like this one.

Call me crazy, but I have a serious problem with the government telling me that they would really like to inject something into my body that "may or may not work."

...no offense to those who get them of course.

How To Tick Off A WWII Vet

...and the people at Time still can't figure out why their stock numbers are falling.
I agree with the vets. How dare they replace the flag of the United States of America - the flag that so many of those men died for - with a tree. What kind of person can equate the hoax of global warming with the efforts that went into World War 2?

Left wing Democrat liberals, that's who.

It was a 5.4

From Fox news

WEST SALEM, Ill — A 5.4 earthquake early Friday rocked people awake as far away as Indiana, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a large Midwest temblor.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered 6 miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

"It shook our house where it woke me up," said David Behm of Philo, 10 miles south of Champaign. Windows were rattling, and you could hear it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It's not like California."

"That was an earthquake"

Right now it is 5:48:00 AM.

I woke up about 10 minutes ago, and the first thing I said was "That was an earthquake."

My wife said, "Go back to sleep - its thunder."

For the record, if I had to guess, I would say it was between a 3 and a 4, but I'm no expert.

...not the thunder, but the earthquake.

"God Still Has Work For Us To Do"

...Indeed.
By Jim Kavanagh
CNN

"God Still Has Work For Us To Do"
(CNN) -- A missionary family from Minnesota is glad to be alive and together after surviving a plane crash in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the father said Wednesday.

Barry and Marybeth Mosier were on their way to visit their son Keith, 24, in Kinsangani, Congo, with two younger children when their plane crashed on takeoff Tuesday in Goma. More than 30 people died as the plane plowed through a market and burned.

April Mosier, 14, managed to escape quickly, her father said by phone from Goma.

"April raced ahead, and she got to the front of the plane as one of the first people, I think," said Barry Mosier, 53.

The girl encountered a man who was tearing through an opening in the fuselage, Mosier said.

"He was pulling parts of the plane in or pushing them out, trying to make a hole. And she told him -- she speaks Swahili well -- she said, 'We've got to get a hole in this plane or we're all going to die.' " Video Watch as Barry Mosier describes the chaos »
