Rush recently made Bo Snerdley the "Official Obama Criticizer" and it is hilarious.
Not that I would like to have less Rush, but I wish Snerdley had more air time.

Last week, Obama's wife Michelle was saying that her husband is the only person who can
"save the soul of this country."

Today, none other than Lewis Farrakhan has been quoted as saying to a crowd of 20,000 that, "This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better,”
and
"...This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama’s audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed..."
and
“A black man with a white mother became a savior to us..."

If you don't see a problem with this, you are not paying attention.
He is bringing all races together, his words are "transforming lives", he is the savior of the world!?! All of these attributes are only properly placed in front of one name: Jesus Christ, whom is called Yeshua HaMashiach in the Hebrew.
There is no other name by which man might be saved.

Lewis Farrakhan is the former leader of the Nation of Islam - he's not a "civil rights activist," nor is he just a "religious man." In spite of what Jesse Jackson will tell you about him, he is anti American, and vehemently anti Christian.
Yet, he is leading the praise for the Democrat's next nominee.

It is definitely time to wake up.

Speaking of bondage, Shabbat Shalom!

Well, Friday is here again, and that means that tonight we prepare to "enter into that rest" of Shabbat. How anybody could disregard this commandment as being "under bondage" is beyond me.
We have come to look forward to this day throughout the entire week - the phones are off, the TV is off, we stay at home... and rest. If that is bondage, then count me in. After all, I am called to be a slave to God, right? His burden is easy and His yoke is light.

It seems to me that if people knew the value of the Sabbath, and realized that God promised to meet us in it, Christians everywhere would be digging up excuses to start observing this beautiful holiday. Yes, holiday. God names the Sabbath first in His list of Festivals (click hereto read Lev 23).

I can remember reading that and wondering how the Sabbath could qualify as a holiday, then we started observing it, and it is more than obvious to me now. Its hard to believe that we, as believers, fight so hard to be able to work every day of the week.
The Lord said,through the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 58:13):

"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

...sounds good to me.

Is the Law bondage?

I have a few more words about Hebrew Roots theology in light of an article I recently read, claiming that we are a devious cult, who are putting ourselves under the "bondage of the Law."

First off, lets look at the Israelites.
Do you remember when Moses lead them out of Egypt? The Israelites had been held in bondage by the Egyptians for 430 years. They were slaves; beaten and subject to forced labor.

God, who had revealed himself to Moses on the mountain, told him that he was to go back into Egypt and demand that they be let go. God told Moses to say to Pharaoh, "Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness" (Exodus 5:1).

Before I go any further, there is a paradox that needs to be addressed here. God's Feasts are all in the Torah, and they are all commandments that were given on Mt. Sinai. Do you see the problem here? His Feasts are part of that "Bondage of the Law" I keep hearing so much about. So, the Lord is freeing them from bondage to put them back under bondage again?

As if that wasn't enough of a contradiction, He then goes on to give them the rest of those "Laws of bondage" at Mt Sinai.

All of this business about the Law being bondage , or the Law being given only to the Jews, or the Law being impossible to do are all non scriptural?

Lets look at each.

1. Law being impossible to do: This is the same as saying that the Law is too "hard" to do. This statement is so ingrained in us that we don't notice how wrong it is. As a mater of fact, if this statement is true, then Moses, Paul, King David, King Solomon, and James are all liars. Each one of these people wrote about either how much they loved the Law, or how it "is not to hard... you can do it (Deut. 30)" and the "Perfect Law of Liberty (James 1 & 2)"
2. It was given only to the Jews: This is simply not true. Go back and read the story of the Exodus again. When the Israelites came out of Egypt, there was a "mixed multitude" of people and "strangers" with them, and all were to be under one Law (Exodus 12:49), which means that there were people among them who were not Israelites who were expected to adhere to the same Law. These people were still with them at Mt Sinai. They heard the Law, agreed to do it, and they were not Jews.
   
3. The bondage of the Law: I already went through some of this, but it is called the "Perfect Law of Liberty", and the love of David's life. David said that it those who walk in it are blessed (Psalm 119).
   

That's all I have time for now, but there is more coming. For instance - how is it that Christians use Paul's words as proof that the Law is no longer valid, and then they quote Paul's passages in Romans - passages where Paul is quoting Torah to make his point?
We need to get back into the scriptures and let them tell us what they mean by the context of the entire book.
We also need to look at these things through the eyes of a 1st Century Christian if we are going to be able to understand what is being said; which is why we do what we do.

...But I'm not Jewish. A word or two on Hebrew Roots

A very good friend of mine recently told me, "I have a few questions about what you guys believe."
Well, I have learned to cringe when a sentence starts out like that, but he has been my friend for many years, so I assumed it was safe. "OK," I told him, "Let it rip - you're not going to offend me."
He went on to ask me a few questions about Messianic, or Hebrew Roots teaching. After I answered his questions, using only the scriptures, he made a statement that I have learned to get used to. He said, "But I'm not Jewish."

"I'm not Jewish either" was my response. Coincidently, when you start observing Torah, you start looking Jewish. Why? Because the Jews who "look Jewish" are observing Torah too. They don't simply put on the tassels and eat kosher because they want to look Jewish - they look Jewish because they are obeying God's commandments.

Stay with me on this, because this is a very misunderstood concept in the bible - God's people should obey God's commandments. He tells us this in His Word numerous times. He even goes as far as to give us blessings and long life by obeying them. Jesus said it, John said it in 1 John, and God said it repeatedly throughout the Old Testament. "If you love Me, keep my commandments."

Jesus is the "Torah made flesh."

If you don't believe me, look at it from a logical standpoint. If we separate His Laws into Jewish and non Jewish, where would you start and stop? Is thou shall not kill a "Jewish" commandment? Of course not! Yet it stands right next to "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" and we are taught to believe that this one is no longer applicable to us.

Some people think that there are "moral, civil and ceremonial" laws. I challenge you to find that distinction in God's Word - it is not in there. In fact, Jesus tells us that all of the commandments hinge on love. As my good friend Tim Terry would say, "wouldn't that make them all moral commandments?" I believe so. The fact that His instruction is based on love becomes evident when you start to read the Torah as God's instructions. They are instructions from a loving Father.
For example, if I tell my son not to play with the soccer ball in the house, he may think of it as just a silly rule from his archaic dad. As his father though, I have good reasons to tell him tnot to do it. If I never tell him the reasons, is the rule still valid? Of course it is. The fact that I am his father validates the rule. I know the value of the antiques on the mantle, and the cost of lamp shades. I may choose to explain it, and I may not. Either way, I am his father, and I have given him the rule because I love him, and don't want a painting to fall off of the wall and crack him on the head.
Now, lets say that his siblings hear me tell him to stop. Are they accountable to it? Common sense should tell them that if they want to please me, they should stop play with the ball in the house. If you are a parent you have gone through this before. Our Father in heaven goes through it every day.

If the commandments of the "Old Testament" are "for the Jews," then I'll ask you, Is it OK to marry your aunt, or step mother? Is it OK to disrespect your parents? Have sexual relations with a goat or camel? The answer is of course no, but if the ideological argument is that "those things were given to the Jews" then we, as gentiles are exempt aren't we?

We have been taught that the 613 commandments of Torah are for the Jew, yet we adhere to most of them, under the guise that they are moral laws. Who is to say that wearing Tzitzis (tassels, or fringes - see photo above, from Israel Today) on the four corners of your garments is not a moral commandment? Is it cultural? If your answer is yes then again, I will challenge you to find that distinction in scripture. You will soon find that it is not in there. The only cultural aspect of that law is the fact that it is not "culturally correct" to wear them according to the church.
It is my advice to be very careful when separating the promises of God into Jewish and non Jewish. That sort of thinking, when followed through with, will leave you outside of the bounds of the "New Covenant" and exempt you from the teaching of many books in the bible. After all, if we are not, as gentiles, supposed to adhere to the things that God gave the Jews, then we can not be part of the New Covenant at all because it was given to the Jews - more specifically, the house if Israel and the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31). Nor can you in good conscience leave the books of James and the epistle to the Hebrews in the New Testament. They were both given to the Jews and not to the gentiles.
See the problem?Are you one of God's people? We all know that the Jews are God's chosen people, but never forget that Jesus said, "remember, you did not choose Me, but I have chosen you." You, if you believe in Jesus the Messiah, are one of God's chosen people.
I'll leave you with a few questions:
How can it be "moral" to reject even the smallest, most "irrelevant" of His instructions? Are they not His instructions? Does He have to explain to us why he gave them?

He already told us why He gave them. He gave them because He loves us.

Think about it.

Good riddance.

Lets just hope that the Cuban people love freedom enough to not allow another dictator like him in office. Judging by the population of Miami, they love their freedom - hopefully, they willonly stand up and take it now, while they have the chance.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against the Cuban population in Miami. I have nothing against Cubans at all. I was merely stating a fact in a rhetorically sarcastic manor. i. e. the Cubans must love freedom, or they would not be risking their lives, sailing to America on vintage cars made into boats. UPDATE: In light of the fact that Fidel Castro's successor must match or exceed his communistic ideology, his successor will be the Democratic candidate who loses the nomination, which in this case appears to be Hillary Clinton. Her running mate will be Michael Moore. ~Mang

Vonnegut Metal Lathe - a site to behold.

I am going to be selling some things for a friend on eBay, so I figured it would be worth it to plug them here.
First up is a metal lathe made by the Vonnegut Machine Co, which used to be in Indianapolis, Indiana. This thing is huge. Everything on it works great too - the owner has even turned a few brakes for his truck on it, with no problems at all.
...and yes, it is the same Vonnegut that Kurt comes from; in fact, the young Kurt Vonnegut worked at the Vonnegut Machine Co while going to high school in Indianapolis.
She's a beauty - this thing only proves that "they don't make them like they used to."

Obama's Commie Che Guevara Cuban flag delima

...well, now I've seen it all (how many more times will those words be
repeated in this election cycle?).

According to News Busters, one of presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign office has a Cuban flag with Che Guevara's face on it (click here for video)
If you will think back a bit, you'll remember that Barak refused to put an American flag pin on his lapel, and later was seen with his arms to his sides during the National Anthem.
One time, I can see as a fluke. Two times, things get a little suspicious... but this time, he is openly flaunting his true communistic self, or rather his supporters are.

I am not the first to make this observation, but imagine if he were a Republican with somehting like that on his wall. Heck, look what they did to Huckabee for having a white bookshelf in the background! What if he had a flag with Jesus' face on it, or a bust of the Apostle Paul on his desk.

Its like Greg Garrison and Rush are always saying - the liberals are taking their talking points directly from the Communist Manifesto. It seems like they are taking it to a whole new level.


What's that? you don't know who Che Guevara is? Go here or here check it out - you'll be surprised. He is responsible for saying that he would use "relentless hatred" to "impel us over and beyond the natural limitations of man." And then he did - by ruthlessly killing men women and children.

...now he is an icon in the Democratic Party.

I need to speek my mind on music for a minute. I have posted about many different genres on Mangdiddles, from Hungarian Gypsy Viollin to Pierre' Fournier's beautiful interpretation of Bach's Cello Suites, all the way to Matisyahu's infectious Hasidic Jewish reggae. There is another genre that demands my attention though - hardcore thrash metal, and the best of all is Living Sacrifice.

For those who have never heard of Living Sacrifice, they are the best hardcore band of all time - and I am not just talking about the Christian hardcore scene. I was in to hardcore metal looooooong before I ever gave my life to Christ. I am suggesting that they are the best according to secular standards too; without question.
Their rhythms are impeccable, the syncopation sometimes incomprehensible, the guitar prodigious, and Bruce has the most intense, voice in the business.

Living Sacrifice has never gotten the credit they deserve. We've all known bands like these (Prong comes to mind), but Living Sac is different. I can, and have bought their CD's for my children.
My favorite album growing up was Reign In Blood by Slayer. Living Sac's Reborn not only supersedes the talent and ingenuity of that album... they kill it - in message and talent.

Well, they split up a few years ago... but they just announced (here) that they are getting back together. This time when I go to see them at Cornerstone, I get to take my kids to see them with me. As for their CD's, my personal favorite is Conceived in Fire. When I saw these guys, Bruce told the story behind the song "3x3", which mimicked my story to a T... only I made it out alive.
I should also add that Pre-Bruce Living Sacrifice is much different than Post-Bruce Living Sacrifice. Although the music on the early albums is awesome, the vocals are lacking... to put it lightly. I'm glad they never gave up.
Below are the best metal CD's money can buy. And take the word "buy" to heart, These guys deserve every penny they earn - trust me.

Strange Flesh?

There is an ominous passage in the book of Jude that mentions people going after "strange flesh"that goes like this (see the passage in context here):

Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7

Interestingly enough, Sodom and Gomorrah's main sins were being fat and lazy. Seeking strange flesh and sodomy were a byproduct of a deeply corrupt culture (sound familiar?) that had at its root laziness. At any rate, check out this disturbing headline posted on Breitbart.com:

said on Thursday the introduction in Britain of some aspects of sharia, Islamic law,

the principles of sharia could be used in British civil courts.
Williams, speaking to the BBC, said other religions enjoyed tolerance of their

Asked if the adoption of sharia was necessary for community cohesion, Williams said:

Please tell me that there will be some sort of outrage in the media about this.
You can hate Bush, hate conservatives, hate the Right and hate the war all you want, but this is the type of enemy we are fighting, and acts like this only support the fact that this war needs to be fought.

CNN: Two mentally disabled women were strapped with explosives Friday and sent into busy Baghdad markets, where they were blown up by remote control, a top Iraqi government official said.

The bombs killed at least 98 people and wounded more than 200 at two popular pet markets on the holiest day of the week for Muslims, authorities said.

In both bombings, the attackers were mentally disabled women whose explosive belts were remotely detonated, Gen. Qasim Atta, spokesman for Baghdad's security plan, told state television.

An aide to Atta said that people referred to the bomber at central Baghdad's al-Ghazl market as the "crazy woman" and that the bomber at a second market had an unspecified birth disability.
