Finally.
I know, that's not many on the grand scale of things, but I think its pretty cool.
Sukkot 2007, Friday and Saturday nights...
Friday night we had a speaker form Bridges for Peace, Jay Christianson, who spoke on the Aaronic Blessing (May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His countenance shine upon you... ).
Click here for Bridges' international site, or here for their American site.
Jay is going to speak again tonight, his sermon is titled "Leprosy of the Mouth". We will be starting at 7:00!
Jim and Tim playing come awesome worship music. Tim jokingly calls it "Jew-grass music". Have you ever noticed that worship is more intense (pardon the pun) when it is done outside?
Tim Terry teaching on the "filters" that we as Christians are prone to looking through - he did a great job,, even though he offended some people! Tim has a heart of gold. You can read about these filters by going to the right sidebar on this page, and clicking on the links underneath the heading "Seedy Places". Those links will take you to his website, Seeds of Restoration.
We had quite a few people last night, any number over 20 is good for rural Indiana - a lot of families are regulars, and we had some guests form other churches, and a few people from other states.
We couldn't stay because I had to work today, but everybody at the camp site watched Ushpizin last night.Ron (like myself, one of our country's last great patriots) heading for the "mess-hall".
I should add that Ron's coffee would curl Big Foot's toenails.
Meet the latest edition to our congregation, twins Asher and Ezra...
Don't let Joe fool you; he looks like a mild-mannered gentleman, but he can wing a football at speeds capable of taking the head off of a grown man.
We had a little riffraff show up too, but that's to be expected.

Suckkot service, Thursday night...
Nothing compares to getting in front of your church family, and praising the Lord with your kids - nothing. So far, I have had the privilege to do this with my oldest and youngest boys. Here soon, my step-son and I are going to do a song if we can get something worked out - then hopefully, I can talk my four year old into sitting by me at the piano. She sings along to both of the last two Casting Crown CDs, so maybe I can get her to lip-sink one...
her favorite song is "Here I Go Again".

Keep the swastika... I'll explain.
Here's what we all saw...
Here's what we didn't see...
Do you see it?
There are two bomber planes "flying" directly toward the
main enemy of World War Two; the Nazis.
Here:
I would guess that the brackets on the sides of the planes represent the bombs. Evidently, the streets are named after famous places and battles of WWII as well.
It seems to me that we should call it what it is, rather than spending $600,000 to cover up what could be nicely done, non-politically correct representation of the US wiping the bad guys off of the face of the map.

Audience of One continued...
Just for the record, I was in the Army.
...ready for Sabbath.
I am tired. Not physically, but mentally. I have been working and going to school full time for the last two months, and it is beginning to wear on me - I need a break! Fortunately, tomorrow is a Sabbath, and so is Saturday; the only thing better than a weekly Sabbath is two weekly Sabbaths.
Today at sundown, Sukkot starts, and I can't wait. Tomorrow is a Sabbath day, so I don't have to work! I think I will lay around and study the bible all day. I am teaching tomorrow at the Sukkot service, and still haven't nailed down a topic. I have studied and studied, but nothing is really jumping out at me. I hate it when that happens! Why does God let us squirm right up until the last minute before He acts!?
...hey, I think I may have a topic in there somewhere.
As of right now, I think I am going to go over the details of the Feast of Tabernacles. You know, the "who, what, where, when and why " and all of that stuff; it is pretty interesting, but I don't know where to go with it. I have a feeling it will hit me about an hour before we leave to go to church.
I will try to get some tidbits on here before sundown...

Police Find Swastika Cut Into Acres Of N.J. Cornfield
Swastika In Same Area As Others Found 8 Years Ago (NBC10.com)
Back behind the towering corn is a message that can only be seen from the air.It is one of the most infamous symbols of hate -- a swastika -- cut into acres of cornfields in Washington Township, Mercer County.
A New Jersey State Police helicopter on a routine maintenance mission made the discovery Friday. The swastika was located off of Hankins Road, near where similar swastikas were found in July 1998 and June 1999.
No arrests were made in the previous cases.Investigators found that the most recent swastika appeared to have been hand-cut and covered an area of several acres."This should be in the past, and we should have learned from our mistakes, and to bring up something that brings back such awful memories, I think, is disgusting," said Joe Pica, whose property is one of many that border the fields.Monday, neighbors said they hope it was kids who didn't know any better."If it's kids and they get caught, I hope that they are made to sit down for three or four days and research the history of the meaning of that symbol. Maybe they'll learn something from it," Pica said.Neighbor Anthony Carin was stunned that someone would cause this entire furor carving a massive symbol that's only visible from the air."There's no point in making something that size in a place that's not even seen," he said. The case is being investigated by the Washington Township Police Department, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, and the New Jersey State Division of Criminal Justice.Anyone with information should call Washington Township police at 609-259-3900.

Democratic hopeful, Ahmadinejad
Al Gore, step aside... Hillary move over; Obama, forget about it!
Gore, your private jet is tiny compared to this guy's, and he actually controls the internet where he comes from.
Ladies and gentlemen, take a look at the new Progressive Left:
Got Ushpizin?
The story is about a married Jewish couple going through some hard times, and having God perform some awesome miracles in their lives. It is not a Christian movie, but has many Christian values. It also gives a good idea of what the Feast of Tabernacles looks like in modern day Israel.
As for me and my family, we have tents in the back yard.
Whether you are a Christian or a Jew, or just like a good movie, you won't be sorry for renting it.

Great Day to Walk for A Cause
One abortion in America every 24 seconds.
Mistakes are made, and what's in the past is in the past, but that shouldn't stop us from doing something about the future. Things like this give me hope for our community here in Montgomery County, Indiana.

Walkers leave from the Wabash College Chapel for Saturday’s
Walk of Life to benefit the Women’s Resource Center.

"What a gorgeous day God has always provided us."
Patti Harvey, Women's Resource Center executive director, began her welcome to Saturday's Walk for Life with that statement.
As more than 40 walkers departed from the steps of the Wabash College Chapel, they had more thoughts to stroll on.
"The main point I want to share with you is this," Harvey told the walkers. "Nationally, there is an average of one abortion every 24 seconds. This walk will take you about a half an hour. That means about 75 abortions will happen. We have to do something about this." (emphasis mine)
The Walk for Life has the meaning of life for unborn babies. The Walk also means life for the Center as it acts as a fundraiser.
"Yes, we do this to raise money to keep our doors open," Harvey said. "More importantly, keep praying for these girls. They're right here in Montgomery County. Pray for them. Pray for our staff."
...lonely, and uncomfortable.
...he even threw in a comment about Katrina.

Yom Kippure message
In light of the words in the Book of Hebrews, we know that Yeshua made atonement for us once and for all when He applied His blood to the Mercy Seat. He is our atonement.
Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) begins t sundown tonight and lasts until sundown tomorrow.
Believers in Hashem (the God of Israel) are called to fast and repent on this day; it is a "day of affliction", or a day of self denial.
We have all heard the stories about the High Priest going into the Holy of Holies on that single, most holy day. He would die if He messed up the process in any way - it was highly important for him to be pure when he entered. Hebrews tells us that we can go in freely to the Holy of Holies because the veil was ripped in two when Yeshua performed His atoning work on the cross. Imagine the shock that that must have been for a new believer to hear that sentence in the first century!
Coincidently, the Book of Jonah is traditionally read on this most Holy of Days. Remember what Yeshua told those who were looking for a sigh? he answered and said unto them,
"An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah". Mat 16:1
Isn't it odd that Jews the world over will be reading this story Saturday, and Yeshua said the story was a sign pointing toward Himself? As the rabbis say (grab your grain of salt, but it makes a lot of sense), "coincidence is not a kosher word".
Rather not...

Talk about liberal elitism! I think that since they have already started heading down this road, they should have Ted Kennedy speak out against alcoholism, Bill could share the woes of infidelity while stewarding the highest position in the world, and Al Gore should throw a little piece in there warning us about making ridiculous claims.

(from Breitbart.com)
"Iran is quite distant from Israel," said Carter, 83. "I think it would be almost inconceivable that Iran would commit suicide by launching one or two missiles of any kind against the nation of Israel."
................................
Let's look at what Iran has to say about this.
.........
(thanks Jihadwatch.org, and Reuters)
From Reuters, with thanks to Ali Dashti:
TEHRAN - Iran has increased the range of its missiles to 1,250 miles, a senior Iranian official was quoted as saying on Tuesday, putting parts of Europe within reach for the first time.Military analysts had estimated Iran's missile range at 810 miles, which would allow it to strike anywhere in Israel. But Iran's official Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the country's influential former president and the head of a government oversight body, as saying: "Now we have the power to launch a missile with a 2,000-kilometer range. Iran is determined to improve its military capabilities."
..........This next quote is from the International Herald Tribune..........Referring to comments by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the Islamic revolution, Admadinejad said, "As the imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map." Ahmadinejad's predecessor, Mohammad Khatami, in contrast, proposed a dialogue among civilizations and pursued a policy of détente.
............................How is it that Iran's leaders can state these things, and liberals like The Jimmy still don't believe their intentions? Oh, that's right, "Iran would commit suicide by launching one or two missiles against the nation of Israel."
Has Jimmy not seen how the Islamofasciests operate? Does any sane person believe that suicide is a deterrent for Muslims?
Do a search on Google for "Suicide Bombing" and here is what you get:

The Jimmy is stuck in 1939, and he wants the rest of us to put our heads in the sand with him.

In the name of "Saving Time"
So, I am going to Ivy Tech full time, and working a full time job, and my "spare time" is very limited. I need a specific software program that the school offers, and has made impossible to find, so I reluctantly searched for a "contact" number for a living, breathing person at the school who can help me find it.
I have spent over an hour now trying to get through to a live person! Each dead-end I encounter on the phone forces me to call back and go through the entire Automated Voice operator system again.
I used to think that the most rude thing an establishment could do (on a public relations level) is to allow their employees to say, "have a good one!" instead of, "have a nice day". Not any more; the rudest thing any customer-conscience company could do is put an automated operator system in. Though they claim that it saves time and money, the savings is very one-sided. If you happen to be the unfortunate person trying to contact the school or business, it is an incredible waste of time and money. They have saved the time of one individual in order to steel the time of every single person who has to call in.
The fact that these operator systems are so widely used is merely a snapshot of what is wrong with our culture. The Automated Voice Operator System (AVOS from here out) is proof that the customer is no longer "right". In fact, it is proof that the establishment has absolutely no regard or respect for the customer, or his/her time.
I could rant about this all day, but they have already stolen 73 minutes from me, and I need to catch up on my work.
...good day.

Why do we let them?
Watch these videos, and then ask yourself what would happen if this were being done by Jews in Mecca...
Friday, September 14, 2007
Why we do what we do...
First off, we do believe in Jesus. We call Him Yeshua, which is His Hebrew name. Yeshua was a Jewish rabbi, who observed the Torah in its entirety. In fact, Paul tells us that Yeshua is the very image of God Himself. John tells us that Yeshua is the Torah made flesh.
Moses said that there was a prophet who would come who would be like him (Moses). John the Baptist asked, "is He the Prophet?"
There are some obvious parallels between Yeshua and Moses;
- Both had an immediate family member named Miriam (Moses' sister, and Jesus' mother; Mary in Hebrew is Miriam).
- Both were the only boys under the age of two who were spared when all of the male children under two were murdered; in an attempt to kill the newly born "deliverer".
- Both were born during a time of national bondage.
- Both had miracles to validate their ministries
- Both were set up as authorities of the Torah.
- Both act as a mediator between God and man.
- Both had to die before Israel could be redeemed
We know that Yeshua was without sin. This is where some difficulty comes into the conversation; what is sin? The answer that is commonly given, and the one that I used to give myself is that "sin is missing the mark". This is true. The Greek word for sin is an archery term for missing the mark. This doesn't answer the question though, it merely asks the same one again: what is the mark?
Another common answer that i used to give was, "Sinning is doing something that is contrary to what God wants you to do". This is also true, but demands the question; what does God want you to do?
Lets back up a little...
We all know that Jesus was sin-free. If Jesus was not sin-free, He could not have been our deliverer. The fact that He died for our sins, yet committed none Himself is the most humbling part of being a Christian! But, we need to ask the obvious question; by what standard was He sin-free? We all know this basic fact, but do we understand what it truly means to be "without sin"? The generic answer is that He never broke any of God's laws; and this is true... which laws though? We can find the answer in 1 John 3:4: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
So, sin, by the biblical definition is the transgression of the law. What law though? This is where you need to do a little digging on your own. Don't take my word for it, but the law that John is referring to here is the Torah itself. Remember Paul told us that the purpose of the Law was to point out sin? Jesus then had to obey the Torah in its entirety in order to be a sin-free sacrifice.
Don't let the word Torah be a stumbling block here. In the "New Testament" the Torah is frequently referred to as the Law. In our society, the law is a negative word. In the bible, the Law (generally) is used for the word Torah, which literally means instruction. Doesn't that take on a whole new light when we realize that sinning is simply going against God's instruction? That sounds almost like the standard Christian definition of sin, doesn't it? Let me throw a wrench in that definition...
What is God's instruction? If sinning is going contrary to God's instruction, then what exactly is His instruction? Ask any Jew, and he will tell you, "Gods instruction is God's Torah". It is that simple. The fact that we call it "the law" doesn't stop it from being what it truly is, which is His instruction. All of God's people want to follow God's instruction, don't we? It might shock you, if you are a Christian who does not observe Torah to, to learn that you are already observing most of it! You aren't out killing people, steeling, or lying, are you? These are part of that same Torah (instruction), and most Christians don't have a problem with it. Why do we follow some laws and not the others? The first thing that comes to mind is the teaching that there is a "Moral Law, a Ceremonial Law, and a Civil Law". The problem with this is that the bible never catagorizes the laws like this. All of the Torah is Given by God - Paul said in Romans that if we break one, then we have broken them all, because the same God gave them all.
A common explanation for not observing the Sabbath, or the diatary laws id that "they were given to the Jews". Meditate on that answer for a few minutes...
Now, ask yourself the obvious question, which is, "who were all of the other laws given to?" The answer of course is "The Jews". If we throw out certain laws on the basis that they were gioven to the Jews, then where do we draw the line? Evidently, God never did draw a line. A prime example of this fact is the commandment to honor your mother and father. We all, as Christians, know that this is a law for us - it is obvious. It was given to the Jews, and yet Christians know it was given to us as well, Jesus Himself quoting it in Matthew 15:4 (there are many more places it shows up in the New Testament).
Now, break out your bible and turn to Leviticus 19:3 (or just click on it). Read that sentence carefully:
Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my Sabbaths: I [am] the LORD your God. |
Now, I have a question: Who has the authority on this earth to take what God Himself says in this sentence, and separate the two by saying one is a "Moral Law", and given to us all, while the other is a "Ceremonial Law" given to the Jews? Is He the Lord your God? My guess, if you have read this far is yes, and if you know that He alone is God, then you more than likely know that He is never changing, so I will leave it to you to contemplate the implications of this statement by our Creator.
Remember what Paul said : There is now no Jew or Gentile - God is not a respecter of persons. The Jews were to be a light unto the nations... what light were they supposed to be shining? The answer is His light, of course. They were to show, by example, how our Creator wants his creation to behave. Take note that God never told them to hide the "Jewish part" of His light.
Contrary to popular belief, Jesus is still a Jew. I know this because in order for Him to rule as King, from Jerusalem from King David's throne, he must be one "from among their tribes"; and He is (from the Tribe of Judah!). He would be breaking the Law if He were to act as king, and not be a Jew - He will be breaking the law if, when He sits as King on that throne, He does not write His own copy of the Torah, and live by it - studying it every day and night! Think about that. If He has to follow Torah as King, then what law, as subjects of the King, are we required to follow? Simple; the same law that the King has to follow. This is true in our own culture as well. We all expect our leaders to be subject to the same law that we re, right? We know that Jesus came as a servant; do you honestly think that He would place himself above the very law that He represents?
...I don't either.
I will get into that a little more later though; I have to get to work now!

'Diplomatic surge' needed in Iraq, Biden says

My personal opinion is that it is high time to start trying politicians for treason when they pander to the enemy, as harsh as that may sound. Because their actions put innocent American lives in danger, they should be given the death penalty as if they were the enemy, because when they start rubbing the back of enemy states... they are.
Never Enough
(click here, or on image to watch the video)
Allow me to answer:
There is never enough "fanfare and honor" given on 9/11. I believe that those images should be shown on television every night - every morning for that matter. I think that our "politically correct" society has belittled the victims of 9/11, and made it into a mythological event that is so far removed from what they want us to remember, that the youth today are growing up thinking that it "wasn't that big of a deal". I believe that the political Left has hijacked 9/11, and turned it into a launching pad for their own disgusting careers.
On December 7th of every year, we see our elders gather to commemorate Pearl Harbor... is that too much fanfare? The Japanese at least had the sense of honor to fly over heavily civilian populated areas, and attack a military base. That doesn't lessen the blow, but it does put this new enemy into perspective; they intentionally targeted innocent people.
How much is too much? There is never too much remembrance when it comes to 9/11. As our people are being lulled to sleep again by the liberals in this nation, that same enemy is planning their next attack - and that is what it will take to wake up the likes of Al Gore ("Global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism"), Hillary Clinton ("Health care is a bigger problem than terrorism"), John Edwards ("My hair is more important than Terrorism"), and the rest of them. These people are trying with all of their might to drag our country into the halls of defeat, and their charisma for our demise is only matched by the Islamic Terrorists themselves.

Hypocracy Reigns in the Democratic Party.
'GREEN' GORE GOES GULFSTREAM: VIDEO CATCHES ECO-WARRIOR ON LUXURY PRIVATE JET
Fri Sep 07 2007 07:48:23 ET
**Exclusive**
As former Vice President Al Gore waits to hear if he has won this year's Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless effort on climate change, a new video will air this weekend capturing Gore on a fuel-guzzling private jet!
FOXNEWS host Sean Hannity is set to unleash the damning video this Sunday night, network sources reveal.
With all of the talk about the "Hypocrisy of Right Wing Republicans" in the aftermath of the Craig incident, this should be the talk of the media for weeks to come… but it won’t.
Like John Edwards, Leo Decaprio, and the rest of the “Green” lunatics, Al Gore doesn’t believe that his actions are subject to his own sermons. He is just like a vegetarian who wears leather Nikes. You can not preach a message like his, and then fly around in big private jets. What is good for the goose id good for the gander.
The audacity of these people is startling, yet typical of the political Left. According to their logic, this should put a smear on the entire Democratic Party.
It is like Rush says, ‘Because they don’t have any moral standard, they are never wrong.’
In their own eyes, that is.
As for me and my house, we will continue to drive the minivan.

Sderot kids to stay away from schools following morning's rocket salvo
The Sderot Parents Association decided they would not take their children to schools and day care centers beginning Tuesday, until the government changed its policy regarding ongoing Kassam rocket attacks on the western Negev town, The Jerusalem Post learned Monday. It followed a salvo of seven Kassam rockets that landed in and around the beleaguered town Monday morning. After one of the rockets thudded into the courtyard of a day care center, soldiers scrambled to evacuate everyone inside. Twelve people, including some of the babies, suffered shock and a building was damaged.Despite the fact that none of the 15 babies at the center were wounded, frantic parents across the city - already furious over the government's failure to protect them and their children from the near-daily rocket fire - pulled their children out of schools on the second day of the academic year.In total, seven Kassam rockets landed in and around the western Negev town as Sderot children started their second day of the new school year. The Islamic Jihad said they had fired nine Kuds-3 rockets, saying on their internet site that the attack was "a present for the start of the new school year."
