I'm Still Here.

I am still alive; just haven't been blogging.
I started school again, and am strapped for time in a big way.
I am actually "live blogging" from class right now (it is a class on how to take courses online).
I don't have many comments on the news right now, other than I think it is unfortunate that we have narrowed it down to four Democrats; two from the Democrats, and two from the GOP. In this race the only "lesser" of the evils is anybody that is not Hillary. Other than that, they are all the same person.

I am teaching the teen bible study at our church again after a four year break. I am excited about it. There are less kids in this study, but it appears that there are more leaders, and God knows that the next generation needs leadership. After all, they are not going to get it from those that we elect.

God's Global Warming sense of humor

I love seeing stories like this.
.....................

GLOBAL WARMING PROTEST FROSTED WITH SNOW

from:

It snowed, but they still came. A heavy snowfall blanketed a global warming protest outside the State House in Annapolis this morning, but it did not dampen the shouts of about 400 activists who urged lawmakers to pass the nation's toughest greenhouse gas control law.

As supporters waved signs, chanted and banged drums, 18 legislators walked down a symbolic green carpet to sign up as co-sporsors to a bill that would mandate that all businesses in Maryland cut emissions of global warming pollution by 25 percent by 2020 and 90 percent by 2050.

"We are going to pass this bill this year," said State Sen. Paul Pinsky, a Democrat from Prince
George's County and chairman of the senate's environmental matters subcommittee. "We are
not going to rest, we are not going to stop....We are going to keep going until we pass this
bill."

.........................

...you do that.

Reeping trouble in Gaza

Anybody with any sense at all (or lack of political correctness) saw this coming. Yet again it is proven that appeasement gets you nothing but more of what you are appeasing.

Rice says US can help with Gaza border

The US is ready to give technical aid to help Egypt stop arms smuggling into Hamas-run Gaza, but Cairo must improve border patrol efforts, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Tuesday.

"We think that Egypt has to do more. Those tunnels need to be dealt with," Rice said, adding that a US Army Corps of Engineers team had studied the problem and talked to Egyptian security personnel about it. "The Egyptians have said that they want some, perhaps, technical help. We're prepared obviously, to give that, but it's also - you know, the will to do it is very important here," Rice said. Billary, Lies, ...and Indegestion.

A beautifully false, nauseating comment from Billary:

"So when this woman, this really kind woman, said to me, 'Well, how are you doing?' it was so touching to me," she said. "I'm so other-oriented. You know I'm not good about talking about myself. I don't get up and think about how I'm going to present myself. I think about, 'What am I going to do today to actually make a difference in someone's life?'"

uh-huh.
I am going to down a bottle of Pepto-Bismol now.

Billary Clinton

We had Bennifer...
we had Brangelina...

Why haven't we had "Billary" Clinton yet?
Fair is fair.

We can only hope.

Drudge has a story that claims that Hillary may leave the "trail", and as much as I would like that, I don't believe she is going anywhere.
Oh, she may leave the trail, but like Bill Murry in "What About Bob?", she will never truly leave. The Clinton enterprise will be a mainstay in America for years to come. Like a festering boil, the Clinton's will always be behind the scenes, just waiting for another opportunity to rear their ugly heads, and stink things up on the political scene.
Hillary Clinton is very unlikeable - she is used to people not liking her, and she isn't phased by it.
I doubt she will leave the race, but that is the talk on the "trail".

TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS
Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it
will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."
MORE
Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

This is a joke, right?

2008. Potentially the most important year in American history, and the Republican Party has decided to stop opposing the Democrats, and instead opted to emulate them.
This is the year of the death of the Reagan Conservative - at least in the greater public arena, and our country can't afford it.
What just happened in Iowa is this; the American people were given a bowl of rotten fruit, and asked which one they liked better, the rotten peach or the rotten apple. The truth is, we don't like any of them.
They all stink in their own particular way.

What thinking people are saying about Ron Paul

I got this from the comments section at LGF - If you are not aware of what Ron Paul really stands for, just stop in there and start reading. His base is full of Nazi skeletons.
.................................................

I do not laugh at Ron Paul as loudly as you do.

The fact that the absurdities he espouses have resonance with a sizable group of illogical people from both ends of the political spectrum is troubling in itself, as it shows the level to which political discussion has been degraded. Overt Nazis, such as Stormfront, will always marginalize themselves. But normal-seeming people who have completely lost the ability to distinguish between fact and opinion, and who--worse--believe that their opinion trumps fact, like the Truthers, are extremely dangerous. People who believe nothing will believe anything--for example, will believe that it is possible to cure America's ills by "going back" to a mythical Constitutional Golden Age, as defined by a single drab little man.

The energy with which Paul supporters engage in the filthiest of political dirty tricks--disruptions, poll-spamming, fake websites--and the acceptance of these things by their supposedly righteous and upstanding candidate as he attempts to maintain his deniability, are an unmitigated ugliness stalking the land. That this ugliness has not been expunged from the Republican Party, and that it blends seamlessly into the leftist dementia which characterizes the extreme wing of the Democrats and which determines the agenda of the "mainstream" Democrats, is also cause for concern.

Ron Paul the man is little more than a nothing, but so was a failed Austrian painter once upon a time. The failed Austrian painter learned how to focus and crystallize the anger, envy and hatred of enough people to be able to seize power with the help of a gang of unscrupulous thugs, some of whom were very savvy in the media of his day--and he plunged the world into darkness.

Ron Paul has shown himself adept at focusing and crystallizing the anger, envy and hatred of many people. He has a gang of unscrupulous thugs backing him, some of whom are very savvy in the media of our day. He has not yet, fortunately, been able to reach enough people to be able to gain the power he seeks, and I pray that he never will.

But he is not a joke.

Somebody got it right.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the American Left owe this man an apology?
(Special thanks to Frontpagemagazine.com)

IN MOST YEARS, SEVERAL PEOPLE COULD REASONABLY BE SELECTED FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE’S MAN OF THE YEAR. This year, one candidate distinguished himself beyond all others: General David Howell Petraeus. In commanding the U.S. Surge in Iraq, Petraeus has not merely arrested an explosive and deteriorating security situation but has reversed terrorist initiatives, driving al-Qaeda out of a province it once governed and denying it the ability to reconstitute a Salafist safe haven. No one has more significantly advanced the welfare of the United States and the cause of freedom in 2007 as Gen. Petraeus, and none has been as harassed as a result – not merely harassed unduly but harassed precisely because he aided liberty’s cause in a time when so many seek to benefit politically from its diminution. In his selection, FrontPage Magazine maintains its tradition – expressed by honoring Col. Allen B. West, John O’Neill, and Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in years past – of especially praising those who have been maligned, derided, and belittled (or worse) for merely doing their duty.
