War, Wikipedia, John Stuart Mill, Liberals, etc.

I receive a weekly newsletter from the Patriot Post. Each week, there are quotes from Patriots from days of old, and each week I am amazed at how their words ring true still today.
Take John Stuart Mill for instance. Though Wikipedia calls him a "Liberal Thinker", his views hold little in common with the "liberal" of today. In fact, it is just the opposite. The man who "...has nothing for which he is willing to fight" that he speaks of is the epitome of today’s liberal... or the French.

"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." —John Stuart Mill
